The Ayagi material found in our decking, cladding, fencing and louvers is our secret sauce. It's constructed of a light rigid aluminum skeleton surrounded by a thicker urethane body. When combined the two materials offer unrivaled performance. The metal skeleton provides the strength and ridigity while the water-proof, UV resistant polymer provides a tough durable skin against the elements.
Ayagi will be exhibiting at the Home and Garden exhibition held at BC Place in Feburary 8 - 11, 2024. Come see us at the corner BOOTH #309. We are offering our composite material at a discount for orders signed up during the event. Homeowners will require a valid contractor in order to install this product. Architects, designers, and contractors please stop by for additional informatio… more
Dimensional decking material was the first product created from our Ayagi composite material. The rigid internal skeleton arose from the need for a material capable of supporting heavy traffic. Ayagi decking has been in use for almost 20 years in Japan. It's now here in North America.
Fencing and railings are integral components of not only a deck but also simply effective devices for dividing space. Fencing prevents movement across space; while, railings offer a security measure and break up large blocks of architectural space. Slatted or non-solid fencing also provide partial privacy in areas that are visible to the public without the cost and inconvenience of a foreboding solid wall.
It's time for the unsung hero of architectural devices. Louvers are used increasingly on exterior wall a over a sun-drenched window. One side of the house is facing the neighbours; no problem at all. The individual slats can be angled to provide the ideal amount of light, heat and privacy into a space.
Our cladding material is built with the same durable composite material. It's aluminum skeleton offers a strong fastening point with the underling sheathing structure. Not only is it a rigorous waterproof defense against the outdoor elements it also offers a small R factor on the outside of the building.
Wear resistance is measured uaing a '30,000 step test' whereby a shoe attached to a robotic armature is repeatedly walked in one spot for 30,000 times. The material thickness is measured before and after the test. Ayagi coating was reduced by 3.9 micrometers (micron) on the conclusion of the test. more
The decking industry in North America is at a crossroads. The price of natural wood — all of cedar, treated and hardwood — increase on a regular basis. But the wood deck is not getting any better; in fact, it’s getting worse. Wood decking now requires annual maintenance due to inadequate staining and sealant products available. The EPA have banned the effective oil-based products leaving the consumer with lackluster products that fade in the sunlight, gather mold and mildew in the rain and peel off within one to two years.
